The Gamay Noir continues to be the workhorse for the rosé. It was destemmed, crushed into the tank and left on skins for 24 hours before pressing. It was with that slightly higher acidity in mind, that we stopped fermentation to maintain a little more sweetness to achieve a better balance. After fermentation, the wine was settled, racked, and aged for another three months on fine fermentation lees.

Dirty Laundry Vineyard Hush Rosé ($20.99)
“The Hush Rosé is comprised of several varieties, mainly Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon. The juices are processed separately, and also at different times of our vintage season, to provide complexity and flexibility with the style. The Pinot Gris is destemmed and crushed, and allowed to soak on their skins overnight in the cool night temperatures to allow all those luscious pear and peach flavors to soak into the juice.
The Cabernet Sauvignon is also destemmed, crushed and pressed immediately. We have the capability on our crush pad to fill our press while simultaneously pressing off the juice, which gives a delicate pink color and extracts berry flavors like the classic strawberry profile of Hush.”

River Stone Cabernet Franc Rosé ($24.90)
“The Cabernet Franc was hand-picked and destemmed. The Cab Franc Rosé was made in a traditional style, where we cold-soaked the grapes for 24 to 48 hours and then fully pressed them, separating the pulp from the juice. In doing so, we extract some rich colour and skin tannin, enhancing the wine mouth feel. Then, the clarified juice undergoes a cool, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is further aged for three months on the finer lees where complexity and mouth feel are developed. The 2023 vintage was blended with 10% Pinot Gris, fined, filtered and bottled. The result is a beautiful, vibrantly coloured rosé.”Ted Kane

Hester Creek Rosé Cabernet Franc 2023 ($22.99)
The Rosé was crafted entirely from Cabernet Franc grapes and hand-picked from four vineyards in South Okanagan. The grapes were hand sorted, destemmed and cold soaked on the skins for three days to extract the vibrant pink hue. Once the desired colour was achieved, the juice was pressed off the skins in preparation for a long, cool fermentation. The fermentation was interrupted just before dryness to retain the expressive aromatic nose of the Cabernet Franc. The lots were then cross-blended and allowed to age on fine lees for four months.
